Encyclopedia Britannica app should be installed on all Windows 8, Windows 10 devices
Some might ask: why the hell do I need the Encyclopedia Britannica app for Windows 8, Windows 10 when I have Wikipedia at my disposal? In an age when for many Google is about finding information, there seems to be no room for other options. Encyclopedia Britannica (the free edition, that is) is a blend of Wikipedia and tradition in providing knowledge, just like we mentioned in the title. So let’s see what we can find interesting and attractive inside the app.
Encyclopedia Britannica for Windows 10, Windows 8
If you have opened at least one Britannica Encyclopedia Book in your life, then you know that the information in it is organized alphabetically, just like in a dictionary. Naturally, this has been preserved and we can find it in the Windows 10, Windows 8 and Windows 8 RT app that we are reviewing. The information you will find inside the app is basically the same, as you find one on the official website, on www.britannica.com
The sad part, of course, for those who can’t afford it, is the price you will have to pay to get the full version. But the good part is that you will only pay $ 14.99 for an annual subscription. Compared to the same amount of information in the “print version”, this is actually quite cheap, but then again, you will have to pay this amount every year. You should perceive Encyclopedia Britannica as a more “exclusive” Google.
So in order to get the full functionality of the Encyclopedia Britannica, you will have to pay for this annual subscription. If you are a student, pupil or just someone hungry for knowledge then it will work wonderfully for you. When you’ve opened an article, you can do the following while you’re at it:
- Pin it to the screen for later reading.
- Access the images and the table of contents.
- Link map: an interesting tool that allows you to link your article to others, if there is a link between them.
- Change the font size.
- Add to favorites.
- Save article
